New York Knicks star Amar'e Stoudemire will return to the lineup tonight for the first time in 13 games. Stoudemire was sidelined with a back injury, but the forward will give it a go against the Cleveland Cavaliers tonight.
The Knicks have already clinched a playoff spot, so the remainder of the season is a great opportunity for Carmelo Anthony and Stoudemire to build some chemistry. Those two have struggled together on the court and they need to figure each other out before the post-season starts. The Knicks played well when Carmelo Anthony was the star, but they need both players if they want to win their first round series.
"Carmelo is a phenomenal player, but he can't do it by himself," Stoudemire said, [USA Today]. "The rest of the team is playing well, but for me to get back out there and be the dynamic scorer that I am, alongside him, it's a great one-two option."
Stoudemire will be inserted into the starting lineup and Landry Fields will become a bench player.
