New York Knicks guard Baron Davis will now have to lead the team to the playoffs since Jeremy Lin will be sidelined for the remainder of the season. Davis is the starting point guard for the Knicks and will have to make sure his game is on point in this final month of the season.
Although Davis' All-Star seasons are well behind him, he would like to get as close to that previous state as possible. Davis isn't happy with where he is now and would like to see himself improve, New York Times.
“Definitely not happy with where my game is,” Davis said, while vowing to keep pushing it forward. “I definitely know that I can get back to my old self and doing the things that I’ve been capable of doing. I may have lost a lot of athleticism, but I can still pass the ball well and run a team, and that’s where my focus is right now.”
The Knicks need a dynamic Davis if they want to make some noise in the playoffs. Although New York will likely make the post-season under the guidance of Carmelo Anthony, Davis will hold the key to the Knicks' playoff success. There are a plethora of explosive guards in the Eastern Conference, and Davis cannot let the young players exploit his weaknesses.
