The Miami Heat's Big Three of LeBron James, Dwyane Wade and Chris Bosh are putting together their own exhibition basketball game in South Beach. The game is schedule for Oct. 8 at 7 p.m. ET on the campus of Florida International University
The Big Three has invited 20 NBA players, and two of them include New York Knicks Carmelo Anthony and Amar'e Stoudemire. Other notables names are Kevin Durant, Russell Westbrook, John Wall and Joe Johnson.
"According to ESPN, the NBA players set to compete in the charity event are the Heat trio and teammate Mario Chalmers, Paul, New York's Carmelo Anthony and Amar'e Stoudemire, Oklahoma City's Kevin Durant and Russell Westbrook, Boston's Rajon Rondo, Washington's John Wall, Atlanta's Jamal Crawford and Joe Johnson, Memphis' Rudy Gay, Houston's Jonny Flynn, the Clippers' Eric Bledsoe, Dallas' Caron Butler, Philadelphia's Lou Williams, Portland's Wesley Matthews, Golden State's Dorell Wright and free agent Eddy Curry."
The game will be composed of two teams, a Nike team and a Jordan team. Those players that are sponsored by Nike will be placed in a squad that will go up against the Jordan Brand team. Comedian Kevin Hard and rapper Rick Ross are expected to be Jordan and Nike team coaches, respectively.
There have been a myriad of these exhibition/charity games over the summer, as players are trying to find a way a way to stay in shape during the lockout.
