Carmelo Anthony Avoiding Comparisons to Heat
New York met Miami in the first round of the 2012 Playoffs, but unfortunately, the Knicks were ousted in just five games. Although winning a playoff game was a step in the right direction, the Knicks do not want to settle with mediocracy. As a result, the front office is doing whatever it takes to put together a championship team and so far it has done a great job.
At the end of the day, the target is Miami and the Knicks can always compare themselves to that team in order to see how much better they got. Still, Knicks star Carmelo Anthony is avoiding any comparisons to the Heat and is focusing only on his team, New York Post.
“I try not to compare us to Miami. I can say, I know we will be a better team than we were last year and two years ago. We’re definitely now a stronger team.’’
The Knicks have added veteran leaders to their team, players that can help the squad on the court and in the locker-room. Jason Kidd and Raymond Felton give the Knicks a very solid backcourt, while Ronnie Brewer and Marcus Camby are elite defenders who can punish opponents.
Although the Knicks may not be title contenders yet, there is potential for greatness with this New York team.
