Carmelo Anthony Disappointed With Knicks’ Performance

The New York Knicks blew a 17-point third quarter lead last night to the Indiana Pacers and eventually lost the game, 112-104. The Knicks were outscored 40-17 in the fourth quarter and were not able to capitalize on the Philadelphia 76ers’ loss to the Heat.

The Knicks dominated the first half, and although they were completely outplayed in the second, they had a chance to send the game into overtime. Carmelo Anthony missed the game-tying three and that resulted in an extremely disappointing loss for the team, New York Post.

“Forty points in the fourth quarter is too much,’’ Anthony said. “They were able to get stops, rebounds and just outworked us. We kind of got lax going into the fourth quarter and they ran away with it. They wanted it more.”

The Knicks will be depleted in this final month of the season, and at this point effort will bring them to the playoffs. With two of their three stars out of the lineup, the Knicks cannot afford to blow leads like last night. The Pacers are a post-season bound team and this win would have boosted the confidence of the entire squad.
