The New York Knicks fell to the Philadelphia 76ers earlier today, 106-94, and continued on their slid. Their loss to the division leading Sixers resulted in their fifth consecutive loss, despite the return of Tyson Chandler.
Carmelo Anthony, the star of the team, has struggled since the return of Jeremy Lin. If the Knicks continue to slid down the Eastern Conference standings, Anthony and coach Mike D'Antoni would take most of the blame.
The Knicks were once considered a conference threat, but now they have fallen five games under .500 and are in a heated battle for the eight seed.
"We've got to find a way to get it done right now," Anthony said. "It's coming down toward the end of the season. Our backs are against the wall and we've got to figure it out. It's not fun though."
This Knicks team has not had to face much adversity, but it seems as though this is the toughest road these players have had to face. Only time can tell if New York can make a push come playoff time.
