The New York Knicks had an impressive win over the Chicago Bulls on Sunday thanks to the great play of Carmelo Anthony. Anthony scored 43 points in that game and hit two key threes in the fourth quarter and overtime. The Knicks went on to win the game, 100-99, and Madison Square Garden was louder than ever.
Anthony was the hero for the Knicks and he played at a level that he never played at while in New York. Anthony had been struggling while with the Knicks and never actually came up clutch in a marquee game. However, now that he is healthy and the center-piece to the team, Carmelo Anthony has shined.
“I’m healthy,’’ said Anthony [New York Post]. “Things took some time to heal. As far as my rhythm goes, I guess it came back. It’s finally starting to come around for me.’’
Anthony has been dealing with wrist, groin, knee and hip injuries this season and was not at full form very often. However, with Stoudemire and Lin out of the lineup, Anthony has stepped up his game and is the lone star on the Knicks team.
