According to a source close to the New York Knicks, it seems as though Carmelo Anthony's relationship with Mike D'Antoni is continuing to deteriorate. The Knicks are currently on a six game losing streak, and falling short in games hurts any type of relationship. The Knicks were clicking with Jeremy Lin being the only star, but with Anthony back, everything has fallen apart in New York.
Anthony is the team's main star and if he cannot find peace with D'Antoni, the franchise cannot accomplish anything. If the Knicks continue to slump, the bond between the coach and the all-star forward will surely vanish.
In the Knicks' loss to the Chicago Bulls last night, Anthony did not join the team's huddle in the third quarter, something some people consider as a sign of anger. Anthony may have been upset with D'Antoni and could have decided not to hear what his sub-par defensive coach had to say.
If the Knicks want to figure out a way to win, they must either make personnel changes or find a way to make D'Antoni improve his defensive schemes.
