Crucial NBA Labor Meeting Scheduled for Tuesday
Tomorrow’s meeting in New York City could determine if Knicks fans get to see 82 games of the team or a mere 50. Today’s session featured smaller groups, but we will see larger committees like the ones on Friday for Tuesday’s session.
KBergCBS: Stern on BRI: “We’re apart on the split. But we know that the answer lies somewhere between where they were and where we are.”
“I think if there’s a will we’ll be able to deal with both the split and with the system issues.”
“It would be great to be able to make some real progress tomorrow. Whether that’s possible or not, I don’t know.”
The owners’ and players’ committees will meet separately tomorrow morning, followed by bargaining at noon ET. High noon.
Paul Pierce of the Boston Celtics joined the players union in today’s session, and sources say Amar’e Stoudemire and Kobe Bryant will be making their way to the conference room tomorrow. If things go well an 82-game season will be assured; however, things can go haywire and the season may be slimmed down.
