Donnie Walsh Set Complete Contract Extension With Knicks

Written by on May 30, 2011 in News - No comments

After weeks of speculation and a near contract agreement months ago, it looks as though the Knicks and Donnie Walsh will officially sign a deal this week.

Walsh's contract expired at the end of last season, and fans were not sure whether or not the architect to the current Knicks team would return. Walsh joined the Knicks front office in 2008, and he had goals of developing a championship team in New York.

Last season, Walsh managed to sign Amar'e Stoudemire to a long-term deal and he pulled off a trade that sent Carmelo Anthony from Denver to Manhattan.

However, once Walsh does indeed sign the contract extension he will have to deal with a possible coaching change and may need to make major changes to improve the team.
