Ex-Knicks Guard Jalen Rose Serving Time in Jail

Written by on August 6, 2011 in News - No comments

ESPN NBA analyst, member of the Michigan 'Fab Five' and former New York Knick, Jalen Rose, was sentenced to 20 days in jail on July 28th for drunk driving.

The incident occurred in March near Detroit; in May Rose pleaded guilty and admitted to drinking six martinis before crashing his SUV along a snowy road. Rose had this to say after the hearing, ""I'm humbled, I'm embarrassed and I'm very apologetic. I can assure everyone that nothing like this will ever happen again."

Rose was initially supposed to serve 92 days in jail but District Court Judge Kimberly Small decided to suspended 72 of those days; Rose was given credit for the night he spent in jail after the accident.

Jalen Rose spent only 26 games with the Knicks in the 2005-06 season before retiring from the NBA in 2007.
