J.J. Barea Open to Playing for the Knicks

Dallas Mavericks' guard Jose Juan (J.J.) Barea told a Spanish website that he is open to playing for the New York Knicks. Barea has expressed interested in re-signing with the Mavericks, but he is also weighing his options with other teams.

Barea won the 2011 NBA Championship with the Dallas Mavericks, and he torched his opponents with his impeccable pick-and-roll play. Barea, despite standing under six feet, has an uncanny knack of attacking the basket and dissecting the defensive in the paint.

In his five NBA seasons, Barea has averaged 7.1 points per game and 2.9 assists per game. However, Barea improved his NBA stock for his play in the Playoffs, and no team could find a solution for his paint penetration.

The Knicks already have a loaded back-court, but Mike D'Antoni would surely appreciate another veteran guard to work alongside Chauncey Billups.
