Jared Jefferies expects to Re-Sign with the Knicks
Love-em or Hate-em, but it seems that Jared Jeffries is going to be re-joining the Knicks for at least one more season. NYDailyNews own Frank Isola reports:
Jared Jeffries has informed the Knicks that he intends to re-sign with the club on Friday, the first day of free agency as well as the start of training camp.
Jeffries originally signed a mid-level contract with the Knicks five years ago when Isiah Thomas was running the club. Jeffries was eventually traded to Houston in the Tracy McGrady deal and returned to the Knicks after being released by the Rockets last February.
Jeffries played well under Mike D’Antoni and is a versatile forward who can defend numerous positions. He is limited offensively and that cost the Knicks in Game 2 of their playoff series against Boston when he blew a chance to give the Knicks the lead in the final seconds when he committed a turnover.
Jeffries is expected to sign a one-year contract for the veteran minimum.
Jared took a lot of heat for missing that lay-up in Game 2 but should the game have came down to him making the last shot? Probably not, but its still a lay-up right? He does however bring many intangibles to the team on the defesive end, his long arms and quick feet give him the ability to guard almost any position.
Is this is good move, or should Knicks look elsewhere for the services he provides?
