New Jersey Net legend and current unrestricted free-agent Jason Kidd could make his way back to the Northeast. At first rumors had it that Deron Williams and Kidd were essentially a package, but it seems as though Kidd will not be going back to the Nets. Instead, the future Hall-of-Fame guard could make his way to the other team in New York.
The New York Post reports that the Knicks would love having Kidd as a mentor to Jeremy Lin. Kidd is a veteran point guard who understands the craft and would help Lin tremendously.
If the Knicks lose out on Steve Nash, the Knicks could offer Kidd their $3.09M mini mid-level exception. Kidd talked recently of being intrigued by playing with Lin.
Adding Kidd to the roster would make perfect sense; even though Kidd is towards the end of his career, he still has a lot left in the tank. The Dallas Mavericks will also be going after Kidd, so the Knicks must act fast or else he may be gone.
