Jeremy Lin Sits Down With Former ESPN Writer
New York Knicks guard Jeremy Lin sat down with Anthony Federico on Tuesday and had lunch with the former ESPN employee. Federico was fired by ESPN shortly after he posted a insensitive headline on the company’s mobile website. After the Knicks’ first loss with Lin in the starting lineup, Federico posted the title, ‘Chink in the Armor.’
Federico was let go by ESPN nearly 30 minutes after the title was posted and he has said that the publication was ”an honest mistake.”
The lunch between the two was actually set up by a member of the Lin family and Federico was excited to have a chance to sit down with the point guard, New York Post.
“The fact that he reached out to me,” Federico said. “The fact that he took the time to meet with me in his insanely busy schedule. … He’s just a wonderful, humble person. He didn’t have to do that, especially after everything had kind of died down for the most part.
However, Linsanity has surely died down and his magic has not been the same. Lin isn’t doing the same things he was doing before and the Knicks are still fighting for a playoff spot.
