Knicks rookie sensation Iman Shumpert was on the verge of earning his first start of his NBA career on Friday(1.6.12) against the Wizards, D'Antoni not to shake up the starters just yet. Toney Douglas struggled and Shumpert picked up the slack during the win, scoring 10 points,dishing out 7 assists, and basically controlling the tempo of the game. Shumpert's play was so good that Coach D'Antoni has no choice but to give the rook the start over Toney Douglas tonight versus the Pistons. Tonight should be a good measuring tool to see if Iman can handle the point-guard position from start until finish.
