Knicks Work Out Long-Time NBA Veteran Bonzi Wells

Written by on June 11, 2011 in News - No comments

The New York Knicks evaluated long-time NBA veteran Bonzi Wells in an effort to bolster their playoff chances.  The Knicks have a dearth of veteran leadership in their locker-room and their shooting guard position is lacking depth. Wells last played in the NBA in 2008, but his experience in playoff series with the Trail Blazers and Kings will be a boon for the Knicks.

Wells, currently 34,  played in China and Spain in recent years, but the Knicks are contemplating as to whether or not they should invite him to training camp.  The Knicks' free-agent tryout camp ended yesterday and Wells impressed the coaching staff more than any other player.

The Knicks will be looking to make a deeper playoff run next season, and the shooting guard decision is just one of their problems. The Knicks are also looking to add a more dominant center and possibly a new head coach.
