Lakers and Knicks to Lose Most Money With Lockout

If the 2011 NBA lockout threatens the majority of the 2011-2012 season, the Los Angeles Lakers and the New York Knicks will lose the most money in terms of ticket sales. This is quite obvious since Los Angeles and New York City are huge markets and ticket sales are high nearly every season for teams in those cities. The Knicks will lose $18.3 millions according to Ticket Intelligence and Statistics, while the Lakers will lose $19.7 million.

In grand total, the NBA will lose $184 million in ticket sales and the smaller market teams will see more losses than they usually see. With these math calculations, the Players Union and League Office should be worried about the future of the National Basketball Association.
