Madison Square Garden To Undergo Major Changes
The World’s Most Famous Arena, Madison Square Garden, is expected to undergo a major face-lift for the next three summers. The $1 billion transformation will give fans at the arena a sports experience no other venue can offer.
The construction of the new design is scheduled to take place in the summers in order to avoid issues during the Knicks’ and Rangers’ seasons. However, the concourse, the lower-level seats, concession stands and the locker rooms are set to be completed by fall.
As for the other features in MSG, they are scheduled to be completed in the coming years. The upper-bowl renovation is to be completed by the autumn of 2012, while the famous bridge above the floor will be constructed for the 2013-14 season.
Another key feature in the new renovation is the remodeling of the Seventh Avenue entrance which Madison Square Garden Sports President Scott O’Neil calls, “uninspiring.”
