Former New York Knicks coach Mike D'Antoni was one of the few people who had a chance to witness "Linsanity" up close and personal. D'Antoni saw Jeremy Lin on a regular basis and he is the man who gave the Harvard graduate a chance in the NBA. Lin helped D'Antoni keep his job with the Knicks a little longer and revitalize the entire franchise.
D'Antoni is now preparing with Team USA for the Olympics, but he will never forget that time for the rest of his life. When he was running the sidelines for the Knicks, D'Antoni expected Lin to return after his contract expired. Lin had done so much for the franchise that D'Antoni believed the front office had to bring him back, New York Post.
“Not when the kicker was they can match. I’m thinking, ‘For sure,’ ” D’Antoni said. “Even when I was there, ‘Well, at least we got him. We don’t have to worry about him blowing up and us not being able to afford it.’ "
At the end of the day, the Knicks have to move on and accept the fact that Raymond Felton will be their new point. D'Antoni also coached Felton and he knows just what he can do on the basketball court. Felton may not have the same appeal as Lin, but he is certainly the better point guard.
