Mike Woodson Candidate For Knicks Defensive Assistant Coach

Written by on August 2, 2011 in News - No comments

Former Atlanta Hawks head coach Mike Woodson will be in New York this week for an interview to become the Knicks' new defensive assistant coach.

Woodson's agent, Joe Glass, has remained silent about the possibility of his client heading to the Big Apple.  "I am not going to comment,'' said Glass.

Woodson coached the Hawks from 2004 to 2010, and improved the team's winning percentage in every season. Although Mike D'Antoni preferred Lawrence Frank to be the next assistant, he will surely receive a capable leader in Woodson.
