Mike Woodson Trying to Improve on Defensive End

Written by on March 23, 2012 in News - No comments

New York Knicks coach Mike Woodson has not lost a game yet since becoming the head coach, and the team is looking like as serious playoff threat. The Knicks were previously lambasted for their sub-par defensive schemes, but this new coach would like to fix the squad's weaknesses.

“He’s going to get the best out of everybody,” Carmelo Anthony said about Mike Woodson. “His main thing is defense. Regardless of what we do offensively, he really doesn’t care about offense."

The Knicks previously had Mike D'Antoni running the team, and although his offensive sets were amazing, he was not a very good defensive coach.

With Woodson, New York is improving on that end of the court and is slowly becoming a solid overall team. Defense wins championships, and the Knicks must understand that come late April
