New York Knicks coach Mike Woodson wants his fans to support star Amar'e Stoudemire during this tough time. Stoudemire is doubtful to return to the Knicks' game on Sunday, but if he does make it to the lineup, Woodson wants nothing but cheers.
"They should be supportive," Woodson said [ESPN]. "Amare, has been, I think pretty solid all year. Hey, it was bad judgement on his part in what he's done, but he's in a New York uniform. He's a big part of what we do."
"I love Amare and these fans, they know he made a mistake but they'll be in his corner, I think."
Stoudemire did in fact make a bad decision, but the Knicks still had a chance to win without him in Game 3. The team did not play well in the fourth quarter, and let their double-digit lead slip away in the second half.
