These next several days have been called 'crucial' if the league wants to begin the season on time. The next meeting on Friday will be a larger group with NBA stars and approximately 15 owners expected to attend.
Ken Berger from CBS Sports: "In addition to the players' executive committee and the owners' full labor relations board, union president Derek Fisher said several "key players" will be attending Friday's meeting. Among them are expected to be LeBron James,Dwyane Wade and Carmelo Anthony, sources said, with other stars like Amar'e Stoudemire and Kevin Durantpossibly joining the negotiations."
Large committees usually indicate that some sort of deal is in place, and the officials want to make sure their parties are on board before signing a deal. The NBA could see a new CBA if the weekend talks go smoothly; however, there is a possibility that the league will push back the start of the regular season. Friday, Sept. 30, will be the biggest day of the lockout up to this point.
