NBA and Players Union Conduct Successful Labor Meeting
The NBA and players union had a brief two-hour labor meeting today in New York City, and agreed to end the session to talk among themselves. Although previous gatherings lasted for nearly six hours, today’s session was much shorter but the sides seemed to have made major progress.
David Aldridge Twitter: “Stern: no one walked out. Possible mtgs on Fri if there is progress Wed . Both sides need to discuss “concepts” discussed today.”
Many believe the sides made a substantial amount of progress in today’s meeting and that is why they decided to talk about the concept internally. Those covering the meeting said NBA Commissioner David Stern was in a “good mood” and was “affable” when talking to the media.
Although there is still not CBA, this latest news hints at a possible agreement which will finally end the NBA lockout.
