NBA and Players Union Could Possibly Meet Wednesday
The NBA and players union had a labor meeting last Thursday, but by the looks of it the session was unsuccessful. The top negotiators came out of the meeting in a relatively bad mood and their body language indicated that no progress was made. Shortly after the Thursday gathering, the NBA announced the postponement of the start of training camps and the cancellation of 43 pre-season games.
However, there is one sign of optimism for NBA fans. The sides will likely reconvene in Wednesday in hopes of signing a new CBA before the start of the regular season. However, the session will have to conclude earlier than normal because several officials will be celebrating Rosh Hanukkah.
USA News: “That probably leaves only early Wednesday for any talks, with the Jewish new year holiday Rosh Hashanah beginning at sundown Wednesday and concluding at sundown Friday.”
If the parties want the regular season to tip-off on Nov. 1st as initially scheduled, they must make monumental progress in their Wednesday meeting.
