NBA Files Lawsuit Against Players

Written by on August 2, 2011 in News - No comments

After yesterday's labor meeting in New York, the NBA has announced that it has filed a federal lawsuit against the NBA Players Union.

The league states that the Players Union is not cooperating during labor meetings and accuses the NBAPA of unfair labor practices. The NBA disproves of the players making several threats to disband the union and sue the league to get a more favorable CBA for themselves.

"For the parties to reach agreement on a new CBA, the union must commit to the collective bargaining process fully and in good faith." Said Adam Silver, Deputy Commissioner of the NBA.

This is by no means a good sign for NBA followers, and the upcoming 2011-2012 season is looking more and more like a fantasy every day. Although both sides have agreed to schedule more meetings in the future, this lawsuit is another example showing how far apart they are from agreement.
