According to ESPN's Ric Bucher, the NBA has decided to postpone the opening of training camps and an unspecified number of pre-seasons games. The league and players union met in New York City on Thursday, but the talks did not go well.

Commissioner David Stern initially told reporters that the training camps were not yet going to be postponed, but hours after the meeting the official word came out.

Training camps were expected to open on Oct 4. and the pre-season was set to launch shortly after. Now that the league will be losing money, let's hope the sides come to realize that this lockout is nothing to play around with. Progress needs to be made soon if the NBA wants to the regular season to start on time.
