The 2012-13 NBA season will not be tipping off anytime soon, but the full schedule for next season will be released later this week. The New York Knicks will be looking to climb up the Eastern Conference standings, but they will have some stiff competition. Still, New York has improved its team with some key acquisitions, and it is hoping to make a deeper run in the playoffs.
The Knicks and 28 other NBA teams are all trying to take the Miami Heat off the championship throne. The Heat got over the hurdle last season, and they are now the team everyone is going after. The Heat will open their season on Oct. 30 by hosting the Boston Celtics, and the Sun Sentinel has learned that the Knicks will get a taste of the champions a few days later on Nov. 2.
The Heat's first road game will be on Friday Nov. 2 at Madison Square Garden against the New York Knicks.
The Heat beat the Knicks 4-1 in the first round of the playoffs, ending the series in Miami. The Knicks did manage to win a playoff game, but type of performance was something the Knicks did not want. Although the team was facing a lot of injuries, that was no excuse for the Heat dominating the series.
New York has added Jason Kidd and Raymond Felton to the roster, two players that will help the team tremendously. This time around, the Knicks will be a much improved squad and will surely present a plethora of problems for the Miami Heat.
