Pablo Prigioni Calls Jeremy Lin a Shoot First Point Guard
The New York Knicks have three solid point guards for next season in Jason Kidd, Raymond Felton and the lesser known Pablo Prigioni. Prigioni is currently in London playing for the Argentine basketball team, but he cannot avoid questions about his future NBA career. Prigioni will be headed to New York in 2012-13, where he will try to live up to the magic created by Jeremy Lin.
However, if you ask Prigioni, he finds very little similarities between his game and Lin’s game. Prigioni spoke to the media at London and he believes his style of play is that of a true point guard’s, New York Post.
“Jeremy is more a scorer. He likes to shoot more. I saw him play 10 games. I’m not this kind of player. I like the team to play good, pass the ball, find open shots. I like to play smart — if someone’s hot, pass the ball to him.’’
In the 2011-12 season, Lin averaged 14.6 points and 6.2 assists with the Knicks, while attempting close to 11 shots per contest. Still, during the height of “Linsanity,” Lin did not have a lot of options to use. Carmelo Anthony and Amar’e Stoudemire were injured, so the offense had to run through Lin.
