The New York Knicks have just parted ways with Mike D'Antoni and there have already been a myriad of names rumored to replace him. Former Los Angeles Lakers and Chicago Bulls coach Phil Jackson has been a very popular name to replace D'Antoni, and it seems as though the Zen Master would not mind coming to New York.
Several sources have indicated that Jackson is interested in coming back to the Knicks and he likes the pieces on this roster. Jackson has been following Jeremy Lin for quite some time and wants to see how these players fit in with his Triangle Offense.
Although it is likely too late for Jackson to make a push with the Knicks this season, a league source said that the 11-time NBA champion in definitely interested in signing a contract with the team.
If the Knicks were to sign Jackson, it will surely put them in contention for the Eastern Conference title. Jackson is one of those rare coaches who can change a franchise over night. His proven Triangle Offense and history of working with players surely has to please the front office.
