Heat Projected Starting Line-Up:
PG: Mario Chalmers
SG: Dwyane Wade
SF: LeBron James
PF: Udonis Haslem
C: Chris Bosh
The New York Knicks will be looking to tie the series up tonight in Miami after losing to the Heat, 100-67. The Knicks were outplayed in every facet of the game and their luck ran out when Iman Shumpert tore his ACL in the third quarter.
The Knicks need a better effort from their stars in this game and cannot afford to have a sub-par game from Carmelo Anthony and Amar'e Stoudemire.
The Miami Heat rode LeBron James for the entire game and the MVP helped his team to a dominating performance. In Game 1 James put up 32 points and beat the Knicks on both ends of the court. To make matters worse, James was connecting on his outside jumpers and when that happens, opponents are in trouble. James was also having success in the paint and the Knicks had no answers for him. One good thing out of Game 1 for the Knicks was that Chris Bosh and Udonis Haslem did not have big nights. Bosh has the ability to score 20 points, but he scored only nine points. If the Knicks can keep Bosh limited, they can surely win this game.
With LeBron James as the centerpiece to the offense, Dwyane Wade took a backseat and was no very aggressive with the ball. However, Wade can no doubt take over this game when needed and should be a defensive target. James may or may not have another explosive night, but it would be best to keep both players on the perimeter.
Keys to Victory
1. Play with intensity and a sense of desperation- The Knicks will have a very tough time coming back and winning the series if they fall in an 0-2 hole. New York has to play with all its energy and do whatever it takes to tie the series.
2. The stars need to be stars- Carmelo Anthony and Amar'e Stoudemire were no shows in Game 1 and that cannot happen if they expect to win this match. They need to make sure they're on their A-game tonight.
