The second game of the Knicks pre-season is tonight, actually its the final pre-season game. Most importantly, its the home debut for the newly acquired Tyson Chandler. Knicks fans have been waiting for over a decade for a Center with his defensive attributes. In the first game versus the Nets Chandler played only 27 minutes but his presence was definitely felt. He had 3 steals and 2 blocks and several altered shot attempts against a All-Star caliber player in Brook Lopez. Renaldo Balkman's play in the first game was a pleasant surprise to Knicks fans, scoring 2o points in just 22 minutes on 7-10 shooting from the field. Balkman moved around the court without the ball nicely, getting himself into scoring situations for 'Melo and others to give him easy baskets. The Knicks coaching staff needs Balkman and others to contribute this season, with several back-to-back nights Coach D'Antoni will be looking deep into his bench for much needed help.
Baron Davis has also been added to the mix this season, but back problems will keep him of the court until at least mid-January. Knicks rookie Iman Shumpert will be making his MSG debut as well, his commitment to defense and high-flying abilities should make an immediate Garden crowd favorite.
The Nets will also have Kris Humphries making his return to the team tonight, the Ex-Kardashian husband just recently signed a one-year deal worth 7 million. The former Knick Shawne Williams decided to sign with the cross-river rivals, Williams did not play in the first pre-season game due to flu-like symptoms, he's a game-time decision tonight.
