The Knicks are looking for revenge against the Bobcats after losing to them last Wednesday 118-110. Boris Diaw was almost unstable during the loss, he finished with 27 points on 12-15 from the floor. The Knicks lacked effort on the defensive end, letting Charlotte score basically at will. Since that game, New York has managed to go on the road win their last two games versus inferior opponents in Washington and Detroit.
New York has played much better team basketball on offense as of late due partly to the rookie phenom Iman Shumpert. He proved even in the first game versus the Bobcats that he can enter the game and immediately lift the defensive intensity of his teammates. Shumpert earned himself his first career start against the Pistons on Saturday and did not disappoint. The Knicks will need his defensive energy and the constant effort of his fellow players to prevent a let down again tonight versus the 'Cats.
Match-ups: Guard Play
DJ Augustin/Kemba Walker/Gerald Henderson vs Iman Shumpert/Toney Douglas/Landry Fields is going to be a key battle in tonight's game, if the Knicks can pressure the guards of Charlotte and force turnovers that lead to easy buckets we should see a early lead from NY. If the Knicks sit back and let them get the ball into a easy offensive rhythm, we could be in for another track meet, which N.Y. does not want again.
