The Knicks start their three game west-coast trip tonight in the Bay Area of California versus the Warriors. Newly acquired Head Coach Mark Jackson will be facing his former team that he played seven seasons of 17 year career with. This will be the Knicks first game away from home and their first since the thriller on Christmas Day against the Celtics. The Knicks will be without rookie sensation Iman Shumpert due to a sprained right MCL. Shumpert was injured during the X-Mas day when former Knick Chris Wilcox accidentally fell into his leg while attempting a offensive rebound. The Warriors may be down one of their top scorers in Stephen Curry due to a re-aggravated right ankle injury,Curry is currently a game-time decision.
During the Knicks first win vs. the Celtics, Carmelo Anthony led the Knicks offense with 37 points, 17 of those was in the 4th quarter. The Knicks will be looking for more of a balanced attack from the offense tonight. Amare Stoudemire finished the game with decent statistical line but most would agree the numbers would be lying to you. He will look to get involved in the offensive flow early in the game and attack the former Knick David Lee in the paint. Lee as been more than suitable complement to the scoring guard combo of Monta and Stephen for Golden State. In his last game versus the Bulls David scored 22 and pulled down 7 rebounds. The Warriors will need a solid output from him if Curry is not available to play tonight.
The Knicks must limit their turnovers and close out on the shooters of GSW tonight to be victorious.
