The Knicks are looking to catch a winning break tonight in the nation's capital against the Wizards. New York has lost their last two games versus non-playoff teams at home. If the Knicks have a chance to break their losing ways there is no easier to to do it against then the Wizards, the Wiz is the worst team in the league at 0-6.
The Wizards record does not automatically equal a win for the Knicks, in recent season's the Orange and Blue has struggled against young guns like John Wall and Javale McGee. This season the Knicks will have Tyson Chandler in the middle to slow down if not prevent completely stop the dunk machine McGee, adversely the Knicks don't have an answer for sophomore standout Wall.
Match-Up To Look out for:
John Wall vs. Toney Douglas/Iman Shumpert is one to definitely keep an eye one, Wall is averaging 13.0 points, 7.3 assists and 5.3 rebounds in three games versus the Knicks last season.
Rookie Watch:
Knicks rook Iman Shumpert was rumored to make his first start tonight but that idea was eventually scratched, and he will most likely see significant minutes as the 6th man. Wizards rookie Chris Singleton is a nice young talent, Chris was selected 18th in the 2011 NBA Draft, he was the very next pick after Shumpert to the Knicks. Chris Singleton and Nuggets rookie Kenneth Faried were both available for the Knicks at 17, but Donnie Walsh choose Shumpert over both, its still early, but it seems like right choice. Fans get a chance to see what they may have missed out on with Singleton.
