Report: Knicks Will Not Pursue Allen Iverson
There were rumors surfacing around that the New York Knicks would explore the possibility of adding Allen Iverson to their roster. The Knicks do not have a lot of capable guards on the team, and with a future Hall-of-Fame player needing a job, an Iverson-Knicks deal made some sense.
However, the New York Post reports that the Knicks will not be going after Iverson.
The Knicks desperately need guards. Allen Iverson desperately needs a job.
But The Post has learned Iverson is one CAA client the Knicks won’t pursue, deeming it too big a gamble.
The Knicks are looking to re-sign Jeremy Lin and Landry Fields first before moving on. Some of their guards may not return next season including Steve Novak and J.R. Smith. So although the front-office says they do not need Iverson now, it may change it’s mind later on.
