There were rumors surfacing around that the New York Knicks would explore the possibility of adding Allen Iverson to their roster. The Knicks do not have a lot of capable guards on the team, and with a future Hall-of-Fame player needing a job, an Iverson-Knicks deal made some sense.
However, the New York Post reports that the Knicks will not be going after Iverson.
The Knicks desperately need guards. Allen Iverson desperately needs a job.
But The Post has learned Iverson is one CAA client the Knicks won’t pursue, deeming it too big a gamble.
The Knicks are looking to re-sign Jeremy Lin and Landry Fields first before moving on. Some of their guards may not return next season including Steve Novak and J.R. Smith. So although the front-office says they do not need Iverson now, it may change it's mind later on.
