Former Los Angeles Lakers forward, Lamar Odom, may become a free-agent this summer if the Dallas Mavericks decide to buyout his contract. Odom was a two-time champion and Sixth Man of the Year with the Lakers, but had a very turbulent season with the Mavericks.
Odom was not very comfortable in Dallas and his troublesome summer forced the two sides to part ways for the remainder of the season. Due to the trouble relationship, there is a good chance that Odom will not return to Dallas. In that case, a person close to the forward says he is very interested in joining the Knicks.
A source with knowledge of Odom's thinking says yes. The source says the Knicks would be "on the top of his list" if Odom became a free agent.
"Lamar is big on being comfortable," the source said. "And New York is somewhere he can be comfortable."
Odom grew up in New York City and will surely enjoy playing for his home-town team.
