The Knicks are returning home to MSG tonight against the Raptors after their first west-coast trip last week. During the trip the Knicks were short-handed in many areas, rookie Iman Shumpert, veteran Jared Jeffries, and All-Star Amare Stoudemire had all missed games during this stretch. Shumpert has been nursing a sprained right MCL and was listed with a 2-4 week return. This coming weekend will make 2 weeks, and Iman is confident that he will back in the line-up sooner than later.
The Knicks readjusted Shumpert's brace, giving him more range of motion when tests showed he was "ahead of schedule.''
He took shooting practice Saturday night for the first time and was to be re-evaluated when they got back to New York."I'm very optimistic,'' said Shumpert, who sprained his knee in the second half vs. Boston after having a terrific training camp.
The Knick' public relations staff said he'd be out two to four weeks, but the Georgia Tech product said his real timetable was 2-3 weeks.
