New York Knicks center Tyson Chandler would be more than willing to play for Team USA in the 2012 London Summer Olympics. Chandler won gold with Team USA in the 2010 World Championships and he surprised many with his amazing play.
With big men Dwight Howard and LaMarcus Aldridge out of contention due to injuries, Chandler is no doubt the best available option for the USA coaching staff.
“I’m definitely ready to represent my country,’’ Chandler told The New York Post. “I’m very excited. Just to be able to be considered for the USA team is a blessing and something I’m very proud of. I committed myself when I joined in 2007. I still feel that way.’’
Team USA will be looking to win its second consecutive gold medal and they need a defensive anchor in the paint. The team redefined themselves in 2008, and Chandler would be a great fit on this team in 2012.
