Yao Ming Happy Knicks Let Jeremy Lin Go

The New York Knicks made a touch decision this summer to officially end “Linsanity.” Instead, the showcase will he headed for the Lone Star state, in the city of Houston.

The Knicks did not decide to match the Rockets’ offer for Lin, meaning the Harvard guard will have to take his talents down south. The Rockets offered Lin a lucrative deal, and it was something the Knicks were not willing to match.

The Houston Rockets had another Asian star in Yao Ming, but Lin is the first Asian American to make a name for himself in the NBA. Yao and Lin have spoken many times before, and Yao is happy that his friend is headed to Houston, ESPN.com.

Yao Ming, confidant of Jeremy Lin and the first Chinese star in the NBA, says he’s happy that the Knicks didn’t match Houston’s three-year, $25.1 million to Lin.

Lin is coming off a knee surgery this summer, so although he signed a large contract, we will have to see if he is worth that kind of money.
